At Ease USA (AEU) is thrilled to announce that the Forge Ahead 5K will take place on June 24, 2023! June is designated as PTSD Awareness Month. AEU hosts this community-wide event to shed light on the impact of PTSD, reduce the stigma associated with PTSD and ensure that those suffering from the invisible wounds of trauma know that they are not alone.
AEU has been connecting current and former military members and their loved ones with evidence-based PTSD relief since 2009. Our Vets4Vets program uses a peer support model which empowers service members to help one another during their recovery process through weekly peer support groups, trauma- informed yoga classes and self-defense classes. Participants also have access to our trained peer support specialist who offers one- on-one peer coaching, assistance with community resources, and, sometimes, just someone to chat with when times have been particularly tough.
