Vets Get Pets — Vets Get Pets is a program offered through the Nebraska Department of Veterans' Affairs that covers up to a maximum of $350 of an eligible veteran's pet adoption fees. Allowances are dependent on the funds available from the sale of Vets Get Pets license plates.
Outdoor Nebraska Veteran and Military Park Permits — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offers special permits to veterans age 64 and older, deployed military, and disabled veterans at reduced or no cost. This includes hunt/fish/fur permits and the Disabled Veterans' Lifetime Annual Park Entry Permit.
Veteran and Active Duty Military Waterfowl Hunting Season — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offers a special waterfowl hunting season for veterans and active duty military. Eligible participants include veterans as defined in Section 101 of Title 38, United States Code, and members of the Armed Forces on active duty, including members of the National Guard and Reserves on active duty (other than for training).
Military Lifetime Pass — The US National Park Service offers a free lifetime park pass for US military veterans and Gold Star Families and their dependents, veterans, and Gold Star families. The free Military Pass waives entrance fees and does not cover expanded amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, transportation, special recreation permits, reservation fees or special tours.
National Parks Annual Military Pass — The US National Park Service offers a free annual park pass for current members of the US Military and their dependents, veterans, and Gold Star families. The program waives entrance or standard amenity fees for the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and US Forest Service, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
National Parks Interagency Access Pass — Veterans who have been determined to have a disability (of any rating percentage) are eligible for a free Lifetime Access Pass, good for entry into thousands of federally managed recreation sites across the U.S. The Access Pass may also provide a 50 percent discount on some amenity fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launching, and specialized interpretive services.
