Veterans and their families are invited to the Letters From Home Official Nebraska Stop at the World Theatre in Kearney, NE! Letters From Home was founded in 2010, featuring music from the soundtracks of World War II, Vietnam, and beyond. This vaudevillian-style singing and tap-dancing duo has honored veterans, active military heroes, and their families by uniting the nation through music.

When: Saturday, May 27, 2023 - 10:00 a.m.

Where: Downtown Omaha

Join Patriotic Productions for the 2023 Patriotic Parade as we honor Gold Star Families, our military and first responders.

2023 will include the "RISE ABOVE" traveling exhibit, as well as the USMC's 40 member marching band and Fort Riley's mounted color guard. The parade will begin at 10th & Jackson Streets in Omaha, making its way north via the Old Market to the Gene Leahy Mall.

Veterans Legislative Day is Friday, February 3, 2023, in Warner Chamber at the State Capitol.

• Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the event will begin at 8:30 a.m.
• Anticipated guest speakers include Governor Jim Pillen, Director John Hilgert, and Nebraska State Senators.
• The purpose is to discuss Nebraska Legislation pertaining to veterans and their families.
• Sponsored by the Nebraska Veterans Council, which is made up of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans of America, Military Order of the Purple Heart, County Veteran Service Officers Association, and the Marine Corps League.

Come celebrate the official grand opening of the new Lincoln Vet Center! There will be an information fair, guest speakers, food, refreshments, tours of the new facility, and a ribbon cutting ceremony.

One hundred years ago, on Armistice Day 1922, a parade of veterans marched from downtown Lincoln to the Capitol along spectator lined streets to join the thousands of Nebraskans on hand to witness the cornerstone of the new Capitol being set in place. Veterans spanning service from the Civil War to the Great War were there to witness the dedication of the Capitol to “THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE SERVICE OF THEIR COUNTRY.”

The Nebraska Capitol Commission and the Nebraska Department of Veterans' Affairs invite you to celebrate the centennial of the laying of the cornerstone of the capitol of Nebraska.

The Norfolk Veterans' Home is holding its annual Fourth of July celebration at NVH Tuesday, June 28th, starting at approximately 8 pm. The event will involve the home's members, teammates, their families, and the public.

NVH received donations from local service organizations for the fireworks. SAL will be sponsoring the musical entertainment for the evening, Stonehouse Band. The Big Bang Boom committee is in charge of setting up and lighting the fireworks.

This event is free (including meals) for women veterans and will include a wide range of presenters, special activities, recognition, and more. Our goal is to empower Nebraska's women veterans by:

• connecting them with each other to build a network of support, 
• educating them on benefits and resources available to them, and 
• learning about their unmet needs and how we can better serve them.
